Edit War

Edit War

There's currently an edit war going on over a show I was at this weekend, multiple people have confirmed the set but one guy keeps changing it to a song that was not played. Is there any way to resolve this other than just editing back and forth forever? I've never had this happen before, so excuse me if this is a dumb question. Thanks.

First, it's talking sense to the one guy. Often they either don't know the guidelines and are editing in good faith. If it really doesn't stop, then moderators have the tools and experience to end edit wars. But it's hard to tell who's right or wrong without knowing the details.

Thank you michi, it looks like it's over for now at least, have been no edits for a day no, so hopefully this is the end of it. Cheers!

Have the same thing going on with Rush july 20th 2002. someone just joined and keeps adding the song jacobs ladder to the setlist. There is a ton of evidence to support the fact that this song was not played that night or any other night on the tour. There is even a youtube video with a bootleg recording that night that proves this guy is wrong.

For what it's worth, from my understanding Jacob's Ladder was not performed at all after 1980, until their farewell tour in 2015. In fact, when they first played it live in 2015, Geddy said that it was the first time they had ever played it live. In fact, he was wrong about that—it's even on Exit Stage Left, but they hadn't played it for soo long that he had forgotten they ever did. He probably wouldn't have forgotten they ever played it if they had played in in 2002.

Usually in cases like that, the person heard a similar song and misremembered it as another song. I had a similar case like that with the Camper Van Beethoven sets, and the guy listed something they had never played. I thought that it was interesting, but then I linked to a recording of the entire set, and he corrected it himself, realizing that he had confused it with another song. Wish everybody was that willing to admit mistakes!
