Harry Styles Debuts "Fine Line," Brings Out Stevie Nicks & More!

Any day that happens to be Friday the 13th usually coincides with some sort of fear or superstition. In the case of Friday December 13th in Inglewood, CA, the superstitions begin to pivot into pure joy and excitement as this is the day Harry Styles performs his new album Fine Line live from one of L.A.'s most historic venues, The Forum.

With a capacity of roughly 17,500 people, Styles sold out every single to seat to anyone who was lucky enough to score the perfectly priced ticket at $25 each. Sounds retro enough, right? The former 1D member did not stop there. Completely decked out with a checkerboard stage floor, instruments and amplifiers without any updated wireless technology, and a pre-show playlist that included legends like The Beatles, Stevie Wonder, Heart, Joni Mitchell, and even Crosby, Stills & Nash to name a few. Bottom line: Harry Styles says rock and roll is not dead!

Styles instantly kicked off the show the same way the album begins, with the smooth peak-of-summer jam "Golden" before taking a moment to connect with his dedicated fans.

"We have one job and that is to entertain you," Styles intimately addressed to the crowd. "And you have one job and that is to have fun! Feel free to be whoever you want to be tonight."

Dressed head to toe in his Bowie-esque, pink and white sailor pant suit that is also seen on the Fine Line cover artwork, Styles slid into the next few songs that clued fans in he is performing the album in its entirety. From "Watermelon Sugar," to "Adore You," to the album's leading single "Lights Up," fans belted every word throughout each track like it was their last breath.

"This will be the only time we will play [the album] top to bottom," Styles quickly mentioned in between songs before continuing with his set.

Throughout his show, Styles displayed his true rockstar status as he played the sexy, guitar-dominating "She," soft and Beatles-esuqe track "Cherry," and even Simon & Garfunkel inspired "Canyon Moon."

As soon as the up-beat and uplifting "Treat People With Kindness" played its final notes, Styles took a moment to collect his thoughts on the album, the evening, and the fans:

"There is nothing more hopeful than standing in front of you. You all changed my life. I couldn't have made this album without you. I love you."

Harry Styles' Setlist

At one point I jokingly asked myself, is it 1979 or 2019? This would soon become a reality as Styles soon welcomed the incomparable Stevie Nicks to the stage after concluding tracks from Fine Line. The duo performed Nicks' biggest hit "Landslide"

True Harry Styles fans know the relationship between Styles and Nicks is one that transcends generations of music. Even bigger fans know that Styles looks up to Nicks as more than just an icon in music, but as a legendary storyteller with years of experience to shed upon him. Nevertheless, it's a match made in rock and roll stardom.

By the time the encore arrived, Styles paid homage to his first solo single "Sign Of The Times" before rolling into even bigger surprises in store. Styles sent fans into a screaming frenzy after not only playing One Direction's first single "What Makes You Beautiful," but more so as he brought Christmas cheer and some light indoor snow to the Forum by covering Paul McCartney's "Wonderful Christmas Time."

Yet, it would not be a *real* Harry Styles show if he did not perform tracks from his self-titled debut album. With more than 10 songs in his song catalog, Styles circled back to close out with mega fan-favorite "Kiwi." He may not have performed it three times in a row like he has in the past, but it still packed a punch right until the very end.
