Mr. Bungle Play 17-Song Halloween Set, Live Debut Van Halen Songs

Mr. Bungle played their first livestream concert of the COVID pandemic on Halloween to celebrate the release of The Raging Wrath Of The Easter Bunny Demo album. The event was a full-fledged affair, starting with stories from members of the band about how they came together, and then a comedy set by Mr. Bungle pal Neil Hamburger to warm up fans before their 17-song concert. It all took place at the Eureka Main Library in Northern California.

The live line-up featured original members Mike Patton, Trey Spruance and Trevor Dunn and they were joined by Scott Ian (Anthrax) and Dave Lombardo (Slayer). The trash rockers kicked off the set with an explosive cover of Mr. Rogers theme song "Won't You Be My Neighbor" before going into "Anarchy Up Your Anus."

They exclusively performed songs off of Easter Bunny, both the OG 1986 album and the new Demo release. They also weaved in plenty of cover songs in true Halloween tradition. They did an instrumental of Slayer's "Hell Awaits," "World Up My Ass" by Circle Jerks, the "speak Spanish" version of "Speak English or Die" by Stormtroopers of Death, and more. They closed out the main set with "Sudden Death."

The most exciting part of the set came when they live debuted two Van Halen songs - "Tora! Tora!" followed by "Lose Control." To amplify the vibe, they played the whole set with Eddie Van Halen-branded guitar amps! RIP to a legend.

The set was also hyped up with special cameos in-between the songs by a number of punk rock celebs and comedians including: Henry Rollins, Buzz Osborne, David Yow, Brian Posehn, Eric Andre, Josh Homme, and more, all acting as "audience members" since they played to a crowd-less room.
