Odds Muse Play These Songs on Last 5 Simulation Theory Tour Dates

Muse have been touring relentlessly around the world in support of their recently released new album, Simulation Theory. The Simulation Theory World Tour kicked off in February and is expected to come to a close in just a few short nights (you can see a full list of dates below).

Members Matt Bellamy, Dominic Howard, Chris Wolstenholme and (touring member) Morgan Nicholls have been ripping through a 24-song setlist each night, highlighting new tracks and sprinkling in a few fan favorites from their extensive catalogue. Also included: a visual spectacular of lights, inflatable robots and lasers.

Because it IS the Simulation Theory World Tour, Muse have been playing a ton of tracks from the new album, like "Algorithm," "The Dark Side," "Pressure," "Propaganda," "Break It to Me," "Thought Contagion," "Dig Down" and "The Void."

They've also been playing a decent amount of material from Black Holes and Revelations, like "Knights of Cydonia," "Starlight," "Supermassive Black Hole" and "Take a Bow."

If oldies are what you want, though, you've come to the wrong place. There haven't been too many deep cuts played on this tour, aside from the obvious favorites ("Madness," "Plug In Baby," "Uprising").

I took a look at some rare and obscure cuts from the band's discography that haven't been played live in a while, and thanks to our Setlist data, I was able to find the probabilities that Muse will play them live this time around!

“Darkshines” (2001)

This gem off 2001's Origin of Symmetry was first played on May 16, 2000 during the band's Showbiz Tour. In Muse's 1,199 shows since, "Darkshines" has only been played live 45 times, making it highly unlikely that it will appear on any setlist anytime soon.

I'm giving it a 3.8% chance of being played on the Simulation Theory World Tour.

“Hyper Music” (2000)

"Hyper Music" first appeared on Muse's setlists on that same Showbiz Tour in 2000, making its debut October 10 in Japan. Muse also debuted "Shrinking Universe" at that show. Since then, "Hyper Music" has only been played live 147 times.

This song has a 13.0% chance of being played in 2019.

“Uprising” (2009)

"Uprising" is one of the band's most played tracks, clocking in a 537 times. It first debuted on September 4, 2009 in England, alongside songs "Resistance," "Interlude," "Popcorn," "Undisclosed Desires" and "Unnatural Selection."

It appears on their 2009 album, The Resistance, and its music video won an MTV Music Award for Best Visual Effects.

Because it's such a fan-favorite in their live performances, there's a 92.4% chance Muse play this song on tour.

Muse, "Uprising"

“Stockholm Syndrome” (2003)

Since its debut August 29, 2003, this song has been played live 694 times out of 1,018 shows. "Stockholm Syndrome" is featured on 2003's Absolution and is usually played live before or after "Plug In Baby" (except during The Resistance Tour – during which "Stockholm Syndrome" was paired with "Exogenesis Symphony" in the live shows).

I can almost guarantee you'll hear this track live during the Simulation Theory tour... so I'm giving it a 68.2% chance.

“Survival” (2012)

Fittingly, "Survival" debuted at the 2012 Olympic Games Closing Ceremony in London as the games' official song. Bellamy said the track "expresses a sense of conviction and determination to win." It was also the first single from the band's sixth studio album, The 2nd Law.

Muse have only played it 118 times since the Olympics, giving it a 34.6% chance of making it on a Simulation Theory World Tour setlist.

Who knows, maybe there'll be a glitch in the system and all of these songs will end up re-appearing on Muse's setlists! Up next, the band takes the stage at Rock In Rio on October 6, and is scheduled to hit up cities throughout South America like Brazil, Argentina and Chile.
