Childish Gambino Performs Last Shows at ACL 2019 with 16 Songs

“This is our very last f*cking show,” Childish Gambino told the crowd at Austin City Limits on Saturday night (October 12th). It was a bittersweet goodbye as Gambino, moniker for the multi-talented Donald Glover, spent the last two weeks at Austin City Limits retiring his Gambino name that has grown to garner a cult-like following over the years, with fans referring to him as whole as* prophet! I can see it, the prolific artist can do just about anything, and better than most.

He writes the best songs, the best TV show ("Atlanta"), hits us with the best dance moves, the best music videos... the list can go on. So it was a little hard to imagine that the other night was the last time he'd perform as Childish Gambino, but the performer offered some hope during his 16-song performance before doing new song "Human Sacrifice."

He told the crowd he needed them to act like it was last and first time they'd heard it, and he even talked about working on new material! THANK THE LAWD!

The rest of the setlist featured all the favorites like "Algorithm," "Summertime Magic," "I. Worst Guys," "II. Worldstar," "This is America," and even a tidbit of "Bonfire" off his debut album Camp.

"The Worst Guys"

The encore was a four-song affair of bangers with hits like "3005," "Sweatpants," and "Redbone." Of course, the hour and half set wouldn't be complete without Gambino's alien-like stage antics, and out-of-this-world visuals.

His setlist from weekend one at ACL was the same. He didn't perform too many deep cuts during his 2019 festival circuit tour, but we hope that one day Glover will resurrect under a new moniker and perform around the world once more! Until then, we're eager for the new season of "Atlanta" to drop in 2020!
