Oasis Performed Last Show Ever This Day in 2009 - See the Setlist

Okay folks... It's time to take a moment to reflect on the fact that it's been 10 whole years since Oasis performed their last show ever! That's right, it was August 22nd, 2009 on their Dig Out Your Soul Tour at V Festival in Staffordshire when Oasis, unknowingly to their fans, played for the last time together.

They were meant to perform a gig at the Chelmsford leg of V Festival the next day, but it was cancelled at the last minute due to Liam "having laryngitis". They split up for good a few days later.

The tour was in support of the 7th and final studio album they released, Dig Out Your Soul. The gig itself boasted a 19-song setlist that featured all the staples. They walked out to "Fuckin' in the Bushes" - which Liam Gallagher continues to do on his own recent solo tour - and then went into the formidable "Rock n Roll Star."

Throughout the night they performed hits like "Cigarettes & Alcohol," "Morning Glory," "Wonderwall," "Supersonic," and "Live Forever." They also did deep cuts like "Lyla," "Songbird" and "Half the World Away."

"Live Forever"

Their encore included an acoustic performance of Noel Gallagher doing "Don't Look Back in Anger," epic ballad "Champange Supernova" and then a cover of The Beatles' "I Am the Walrus" as their last song together as a band.

Five days later, Noel issued a statement:

“It's with some sadness and great relief to tell you that I quit Oasis tonight. People will write and say what they like, but I simply could not go on working with Liam a day longer.”

While we still hold out hope that the brothers will reconcile one day and reunite Oasis, we can relish in the fact that they both are currently leading successful solo careers.

Liam is gearing up to release his sophomore album Why Me? Why Not. with loads of gigs slated through February. Noel and his band High Flying Birds will also be releasing new music in the form of an EP, dubbed This is the Place. They are currently on a co-headlining summer tour with the Smashing pumpkins.
