A Look Inside Beck's Night Running Tour Setlist

Beck Hansen is nearing the end of his joint summer tour with Cage the Elephant. The tour has seen Beck showing off his chops with a talented band, colorful visuals, and a setlist that showcases all the best points of his career.

Both Beck and CtE are in awe each other, making this joint tour one for the books - especially with the enlisted support from Spoon, who CtE hand picked.

Beck is a pro so he DOES spice things up when it comes to the setlist, so let's take a look and see what the mix master has been weaving into the sets.

How many songs does he play?

On average, 18 songs.

What does he open with?

"Loser."

What about main closing song?

Beck has been switching it up occasionally, but he's ended with "E-Pro" 16 times!

Does he do any encores?

Yes! It usually always includes "Where It's At."

Does he do any covers?

Yes, every night, his band chooses snippets of covers to perform in medley form. They've done songs like "Pump It Up" by Elvis Costello, "Everybody's Got to Learn Sometime" by The Korgis, "Good Times" by Chic, "Miss You" The Rolling Stones, and "Once in a Lifetime" by Talking Heads.

Which deep cuts has he performed?

  • "Sexx Laws"
  • "Think I'm in Love"
  • "Gamma Ray"
  • "The Golden Age"
  • "One Foot in the Grave"
  • "Debra"
  • "Lost Cause"

Any special guests?

Beck HAS been bringing out Matt Schultz of CtE to perform their latest collaborative song "Night Running" - which the tour is named after. Fun fact: they didn't rehearse the song prior to the tour! Shultz has also lended a hand to "One Foot in the Grave" and "Where It's At."

Beck also has brought out Britt Daniel of Spoon to help him perform Costello's "Pump it Up" at several shows. They also did "China Girl" by David Bowie in Clarkson, Michigan.
