Hot Tuna Played 11-Song Livestream Set on July 4th

Jorma Kaukonen made a quarantined 4th of July something to celebrate as he held his 12th free quarantine concert from the Fur Peace Ranch in Pomeroy, Ohio, which live streamed at 8 p.m. EDT via YouTube. His former Jefferson Plane bandmate Jack Casady joined him so that the duo could perform a complete Hot Tuna set, acoustically. They both wore masks before the performance started and kept a healthy social distance apart while playing, setting a good example for Americans all over the country.

The festive 11-song set kicked off with Kaukonen's "Too Many Years." It was made up of equal parts of his solo licks, cover songs and Jefferson Airplane songs, including "Third Week in the Chelsea," "Trial by Fire," and "Good Shepherd."

They ended the evening with a cover of the traditional "I Know You Rider." Check out the entire setlist below.

Along with the free quarantine concerts, Kaukonen and his wife Vanessa have been active in the Black Lives Matter movement, noting that Jorma has been marching out against injustice since the 1960s. Check out how they've used their platform to uplift Black voices here:
