See What Bush and LIVE Performed at their ALT-imate Tour Kickoff!

After hyping up their joint ALT-imate Tour, alt-rock legends Bush and LIVE have finally started their joint summer tour! The two bands fired off their jaunt last night (June 6) at the Grand Theater at Foxwoods Casino in Mashantucket, Connecticut.

Bush and LIVE are both celebrating 25 years of their respective landmark albums, Sixteen Stone and Throwing Copper.

"We are thrilled to be touring this summer with LIVE,” says BUSH frontman Gavin Rossdale. “The wealth and depth of songs from both bands should provide a great night of music.

“It's an amazing feeling to know that these songs still resonate so profoundly with people,” says Ed Kowalczyk. “And I still totally get off on celebrating this music with them. With Throwing Copper, we were taking on big things with a big sound.  Love, truth, birth, death, philosophy, religion, spirituality...we were asking the perennial questions and poking around for answers with this massive and dynamic sound. It attracted people from all over the world. We were inviting them to imagine that rock and roll could be a valid forum for exploring these types of things...we built it and they came.”

Their kickoff show proved these sentiments to ring true. Bush and LIVE both performed their seminal albums and more, breathing new life in songs fans haven't been able to leave behind for the last 25 years!

LIVE not only performed a plethora of hits off Throwing Copper, but also weaved in other staple hits like "The Dolphin's Cry," "Lakini's Juice," "Heaven," and "Turn My Head," in addition to two covers - R.E.M.'s "Losing My Religion" and "Paint It Black" by the Rolling Stones.

While Sixteen Stone dominated Bush's setlist, they also weaved in songs from all stages of their career into the 12-song setlist, like newer tracks "Bullet Holes" and "This is War," along with "The Sound of Winter," "Greedy Fly," and "The Disease of Dancing Cats."
