Highlights from Anberlin's 2019 North American Reunion Tour

Floridian alt-rockers Anberlin have rekindled for a 22-date North American tour.

The five piece– consisting of members Stephen Christian (vocals), Joseph Milligan and Christian McAlhaney (guitars), Deon Rexroat (bass) and Nathan Young (drums)– originally split up in 2014 following the release of their seventh studio album, Lowborn, due to financial and personal stresses from their intense touring schedule.

In March, they announced they'd be headlining a few shows in Australia and a month later, tacked on an additional 22 North American dates, kicking things off June 10 in Dallas, Texas (marking their first run in five years)!

During their split, each member pursued his own outside passions. Milligan got his foot in the door producing in Texas, McAlhaney founded Southern rock band Loose Talk with Rexroat, Young began his own coffee business and Christian started working in a ministry at a church in New Mexico.

"What I want to drag back into Anberlin is the fact that I do care about people at the end of the day," Christian said, about the band's reconciliation.

"I have different eyes now. When I play these Anberlin shows these people mean something. Whether we don't share the same space, whether they never step foot into a church, it doesn't mean I should care any less about their lives and their well-being and who they are. This is a deeper sense of caring."

Differences aside, these past few shows have been quite an emo-tional trip. They’ve been throwing it back to the mid-2000s, playing mostly cuts from 2007’s Cities like “(*Fin),” “Dismantle.Repair.” and “Adelaide.”
