Jill Scott, Miguel, Babyface and Ludacris are just some of the leading R&B acts set to headline Live Nation Urban's fourth annual Summer Block Party Festival. The cities hosting the shows include two nights in Chicago, Philadelphia, and Houston.
The festival's goal is to deliver a diverse line-up of both established and rising R&B stars. This year, the line-up will feature plenty of big names who have gained notoriety over the years, like: Boyz II Men, Jill Scott, Brandy, Ne-Yo and more. Fantasia, the winner of the third season of "American Idol," will also be performing.
The festival's president Shawn Gee told Billboard:
“R&B music, along with hip-hop, has been indexing high on the streaming consumption charts for the past few years. However, there are very few live and radio platforms that specifically cater to the genre. Live Nation Urban’s goal is to continue to expand this platform, so we can offer both emerging and superstar R&B artists the ability to showcase themselves in front of a large live audience across multiple key markets.”
