Bright Eyes Returning After Years w/ Shows + New Album for 2020!

The Emo-Scenester era from my youth was bound to make a comeback and it looks like 2020 is that year, because Bright Eyes is returning with tour dates AND a new album!

No longer on Saddlecreek, the band has singed to Dead Oceans for a new album and announced their first shows in nine years for 2020. Right now it's four gigs and one festival. Their last tour and album was in 2011.

This is truly a rebirth for Bright Eyes as they've joined a roaster of very buzzy artists that are part of the Dead Oceans team, putting the band back on the map for Gen Zer's to enjoy Conor Oberst's emotional croons and tweet-able lyricism as much as the millennials did. To further solidify this, joining Bright Eyes on select dates will be Lavender Diamond, Japanese Breakfast and Lucy Dacus!

Dead Oceans co-founder Phil Waldorf said in a press release,

“Bright Eyes is not just a formative artist for me personally, but for countless people who work at Dead Oceans. To get to work with a band that is part of our own origin stories in falling in love with music is the rarest of privileges. We are thrilled to be part of another great chapter in Bright Eyes enduring legacy.”

The dates will kickoff with a show in Tokyo, Japan on March 23rd, then they will play some gigs in the States, starting with two Los Angeles in May, an NYC show in June, and then in September BE will perform at End of the Road Festival in the UK.

Check out all the details for the shows below. In the meantime, we'll patiently await for more deets on the new album and a full tour?!
