About the title, you can take in consideration that several of these songs are instrumental. In the Hall of the Mountain King is an instrumental piece.

So what do we do about it? About this particular piece of Edvard Grieg, what do we do about it? Leave it as it is and do nothing? I don't know what to do, i'm only asking for opinions.

I don't know what is the best option but i know a few of the worst:
One thing is for opera songs to be credited to the singer of this particular piece. An opera by definition contains by definition several performers. In the opera Le Nozze di Figaro by Mozart, at one time, there are seven different performers all singing something different on stage. If this particular piece would be some place here, would we have to put all the seven performers of the original release? It's already quite bad that we usually don't take collaborations by two artists.
Another thing i don't want is for the song to be credited to some random conductor like this song from the Opera Porgy and Bess by George Gershwin

http://www.setlist.fm/stats/songs/guy-lombardo-and-his-royal-canadians-5bd60394.html?song=It+Ain't+Necessarily+So

from the release

Porgy and Bess (Houston Grand Opera Cast & Orchestra feat. conductor: John DeMain, bass-baritone: Donnie Ray Albert, soprano: Clamma Dale)

That's not even a release by Guy Lombardo and His Royal Canadians. For all the other excerpts for Porgy & Bess, i have all credited them to the release:

Porgy and Bess (period)

Now check this out:

http://www.setlist.fm/setlist/barbra-streisand/1966/us-embassy-london-england-23d3a84b.html

Barbra Streisand performed several pieces of Porgy and Bess during that concert. Should they all be credited to different releases?

The singer on the first release of Summertime is Helen Jepsen, that's what SecondHandSongs says.

Just collect the artists with covers of classical music here in this thread. We can't solve any questions right now, so maybe the songs will stay how they are. But this thread will help to find those setlists, if we have an idea how to deal with, we can do it more easily.

I don't want to have too many songs which can't be solved right now in the two existing threads (covers/songs).

So what I will do is to sort the provided links a little bit, maybe sort by composer… Once this thread is filled with different links, we can decide how to deal with the problems.

This song, which is assigned to the right release is in fact a Johann Sebastian Bach cover:

http://www.setlist.fm/stats/songs/jethro-tull-3d6b523.html?song=Bourée

I think J.S. Bach can be imported but not Johann Sebastian Bach.

Beethoven can be imported but not Ludwig Van Beethoven.
Richard Strauss can be imported.

About that song from the Porgy and Bess opera by George Gershwin

http://www.setlist.fm/stats/songs/guy-lombardo-and-his-royal-canadians-5bd60394.html?song=It+Ain't+Necessarily+So

all the remaining interpretations that are not credited to George Gershwin are Brian Wilson's and they were all performed in the Brian Reimagines Gershwin thing that Brian performed in 2011.

These are all written by George Gershwin:

http://www.setlist.fm/stats/songs/frank-crumit-2bd74c8a.html?song='S+Wonderful
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/%27S_Wonderful

http://www.setlist.fm/stats/songs/lee-wiley-63d6fafb.html?song=I've+Got+a+Crush+on+You

http://www.setlist.fm/stats/songs/fred-astaire-13d61541.html?song=They+Can't+Take+That+Away+From+Me
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/They_Can't_Take_That_Away_from_Me

They Can't Take That Away From Me may be a Fred Astaire, the other two ones were taken from Broadway plays.

http://www.setlist.fm/stats/songs/simon-and-garfunkel-53d6e3b9.html?song=Scarborough+Fair

They talk about that song here:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Scarborough_Fair_(ballad)#Simon_.26_Garfunkel

and it sends here:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Martin_Carthy_(album)#Track_listing

They say that about the song:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Scarborough_Fair_(ballad)

Even though they say that Marin Carthy had the first release, which followed Gordon Heath and Lee Payant by ten years, the part joined to Canticle was still written by Marin Carthy.

http://www.secondhandsongs.com/work/14508
even though it is said to be a traditional song.

Scraborough Fair and Canticle are two songs but Simon & Garfunkel made it one.

Can i please ask for you to answer even if it'd be only to say that you've read my message?

I've erased the rest of my post cause it could be considered rude. I've been waiting for so long for so many things.

http://www.setlist.fm/stats/songs/david-crosby-33d6f8ad.html?song=Triad
This one hasn't been done yet. Artists covering their own songs? So what?
